Beta contents

This beta version contains the following updates:

• Support for amazon.com
• Support for amazon.ca
• Support for amazon.de
• Excel file explicitly writes UTF-8 characters, so supporting non-English language characters.

The beta extension has been tested on Chrome, Edge and Firefox.

Installation

The Firefox and Chrome stores do not have access to this beta candidate so you will need to install it manually, using the "developer" mode of your browser, using the file that is linked, here.

Browser instructions

Installation of a beta extension on Chrome and Edge is pretty straightforward, however it is not possible to install a beta extension on the regular Firefox app.

Instead, you need to download and install a special version of Firefox called "Firefox Developer Edition" (which can be installed alongside the regular Firefox app).

Limitations and known issues

• Natural language site only:

  Local Amazon sites begin "amazon.{country}/{content}" - for example "amazon.de/gp/product/B000000000", however Amazon helpfuly provides a translation service if your browser is set to a different language.

  For example, if I visit a German product page from the UK, the site will attempt to display much of the content in English and use a format like "amazon.de/gp/-/en/product/B000000000" where the "-/en/" forces the translation.

  The browser extension does not currently support URLs in this format so, if you're using this extension from a non-English language site, please switch to the native-locale view such as "amazon.de/gp/product/B000000000".
